Jose M. Saavedra, MD, FAAP is the medical and scientific director of Nestlé Nutrition. He is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Gastroenterology and Nutrition at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and School of Public Health.
Dr. Saavedra has numerous publications in the area of pediatric nutrition and its effects on pediatric illness on the GI tract. He has also researched the area and speaks extensively on the emerging field of probiotics - beneficial bacteria - and its impact on children's health. He lectures extensively nationally and internationally on these topics.
